The Department of Biomedical Engineering at the College of Engineering – Al-Nahrain University received a virtual (remote) visit from the Central Program Accreditation Committee for the purpose of auditing and reviewing the department’s program accreditation files.
The visit was attended by the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ayad Murad Takhakh, the College Program Accreditation Officer, Prof. Dr. Ali Sabri Abbas, and the Head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Prof. Dr. Anss Qusay Hashim, in addition to the esteemed members of the department’s Program Accreditation Committee: Assist. Prof. Dr. Iman Ghadban Khalil, Dr. Mona Mustafa Karim, Dr. Hussein Abd Jabir, and Assist. Lecturer Zaid Mustafa Khudair.
The visit included a comprehensive and detailed audit of the accreditation files, covering the review of the academic program description, learning outcomes, alignment of curricula with national and international standards, assessment mechanisms, continuous improvement plans, as well as infrastructure and laboratories, faculty qualifications, and quality assurance and documentation systems.
The visit aimed to ensure that the department meets the requirements and standards of program accreditation, to promote a culture of academic quality, and to enhance the level of educational and research performance in line with the vision of the college and the university toward achieving institutional excellence and competitiveness at the local and international levels.
The ministerial committee commended the significant efforts of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, highlighting its capability to complete the program accreditation requirements, its potential to enhance the quality of the educational process, and its ability to offer a solid academic program that keeps pace with modern developments in biomedical engineering and meets the needs of the community and the labor market.
