Official approval has been granted by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to establish a PhD program in the Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics Engineering at Al-Nahrain University, pursuant to a directive issued by the Department of Research and Development on October 12, 2026.

This decision follows endorsement by the Ministry of Planning and the department's fulfillment of all material, human resource, and infrastructure requirements, in accordance with the recommendations of the ministerial evaluation committee. The program is set to be included in the postgraduate admission plan for the 2027–2028 academic year, with the aim of training specialized researchers to develop technologies that serve individuals with disabilities.

On this occasion, we commend Al-Nahrain University, the College of Engineering, and the Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics Engineering for the tangible and productive efforts that have culminated in this academic achievement.
