Under the patronage of the Deanship of the College of Engineering at Al-Nahrain University, the Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics Engineering, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit and the University Psychological Counseling Unit, organized an awareness seminar titled “First Aid in Emergencies” on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Dijla Hall, College of Engineering / Al-Nahrain University.

The seminar was delivered by Ms. Wasan Atheer Yousif (M.Sc. in Physiotherapy), who addressed the fundamental principles of first aid and how to التعامل with emergency cases such as bleeding, fractures, fainting, and burns. The seminar also aimed to enhance health awareness among students and staff regarding effective and rapid response during crisis situations.

The seminar was attended by a number of faculty members and students of the department, in addition to several graduates who shared their practical experiences after graduation and highlighted the importance of first aid skills in the job market.

At the conclusion of the seminar, a discussion session was opened to answer the attendees’ questions, emphasizing the importance of organizing such awareness activities that contribute to community service and promote health culture.
