The Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics Engineering held a scientific seminar on “Empowering and Protecting Women: Awareness of Violence Risks” on Wednesday, December 3, 2025. The seminar was presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Dunya Abdul-Sahib Hashem and Eng. Inas Abdul-Amir Abboud at 10:30 AM in the department’s Graduate Studies Hall, in collaboration with the College’s Women Affairs Unit and University Psychological Counseling Unit. The seminar covered key topics on promoting the role of women in society, legal and social protection mechanisms, and awareness of different types of violence, highlighting the importance of institutional and family support to empower women and provide them with a safe environment. The event witnessed an outstanding attendance of faculty members and graduate students, with active engagement through questions and discussions, emphasizing the importance of continuing such awareness initiatives to promote community consciousness and strengthen the culture of respecting and protecting women’s rights.
