Under
the patronage and attendance of the Dean of the College of Engineering,
Professor Dr. Iyad Murad Takhakh, and under the supervision of Assistant
Professor Dr. Zuhair Khader Allawi, Head of the Civil Engineering Department,
and in cooperation with the Qualification, Employment, and Follow-up Unit, the
Department of Civil Engineering organized a scientific symposium on Thursday
morning, April 30, 2025, in the Dijlah Hall.
(Employing
e-management and developing specialized skills)
This
symposium is part of the implementation of the programs of the National
Strategy for Education and Higher Education (2022-2031) to develop and employ
e-management and specialized skills. The target group was students and
affiliates. The symposium included two lectures:
• The first lecture was delivered by Assistant
Lecturer Shahd Abdul Salam Hamza, a lecturer in the Civil Engineering
Department, and covered the use of e-management, raising awareness of it, and
the skills required for digital transformation. The lecture also addressed the
benefits of e-management in decision-making, providing
training and development via electronic platforms, and improving communication
and interaction via various electronic means. The lecturer provided a
comprehensive explanation based on accredited academic e-programs dedicated to
this field.
• The second lecture was delivered by Assistant
Lecturer Ghasq Ali Obaid, a lecturer in the Civil Engineering Department, and
covered developing the personal and professional skills necessary to excel in
the workplace by continuing to practice challenging skills and enrolling in
available training courses in the required skill area, which can lead to more
job opportunities.
The workshop was attended by the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Naseer Abboud Issa, the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Haitham Alaa Hussein, the Head of the Department of Artificial Intelligence Engineering, Prof. Dr. Wagdy Sadek, the Head of the Rehabilitation and Employment Unit, Dr. Ban Fawzi Daoud, and a group of lecturers and students who interacted with the symposium through discussions and questions posed.
