As part of the Computer Engineering Department's activities to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (Goals 8 and 9), the Computer Engineering Department organized a scientific symposium entitled "Financial and Human Resources in the Context of Digital Transformation" on Monday, April 21, 2025. The symposium included two lectures delivered by:

1. • Engineer Amani Raad Al-Hassoun - Director of Information Security at the Development Bank: A graduate of the department, Bachelor's degree, Class of 2011-2012.

2. • Wissam Diaa Ismail Al-Taie - Co-founder and Business Development - Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Nahrain University, 2002. • Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Nahrain University, 2006.

The symposium aimed to highlight the importance of managing financial and human resources in light of the accelerating digital transformation, and its vital role in enhancing institutional efficiency and improving the level of services provided. Participants also discussed the challenges facing organizations during the transition to digital environments and the most prominent possible solutions for developing digital infrastructure and achieving financial and administrative sustainability.

Financial and human resources are essential elements for the success of digital transformation projects. Financial resources enable financing of digital infrastructure and the adoption of modern technologies, while human resources contribute to the efficient implementation and management of these technologies. The success of digital transformation depends on the integration of appropriate financing with qualified human resources, thus achieving sustainable performance and enhancing the competitiveness of organizations in the digital environment.

The symposium featured a series of scientific interventions that addressed various topics, including: digital transformation as a lever for improving institutional performance, managing human resources in the digital age, and the impact of financial technology on economic policies.

At the conclusion of the symposium, participants recommended the need to invest in training and qualifying human resources and enhancing cooperation between the public and private sectors to adopt innovative digital solutions that keep pace with modern developments and contribute to achieving sustainable development.
