Under
the supervision of the Deanship of the College of Engineering at Al-Nahrain
University, Dijla Hall hosted an introductory workshop on Wednesday, March 4,
2026, about the National University Championship for Robotics and Artificial
Intelligence Applications. The workshop was delivered by Assistant Professor
Dr. Dina Kadhim Mohsen, a member of the ministerial committee responsible for
the championship, in coordination with the championship coordinators at
Al-Nahrain University, Professor Dr. Wajdi Sadiq and Assistant Professor Dr.
Israa Badar Saad. The
event began with an official reception and welcome for the speaker by the Dean
of the College of Engineering, who praised the efforts of the organizing
committee and its initiative to introduce students and faculty members to the
mechanisms for participating in this important scientific initiative organized
by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The
workshop included a detailed explanation of the application and participation
procedures within student teams, in addition to clarifying the rules,
regulations, and important timelines related to the championship. This enables
students to prepare early to submit their innovative projects and ideas in the
fields of robotics and artificial intelligence. The
workshop was attended by the Dean of the College of Engineering, several heads
of academic departments, and faculty members, along with notable participation
from students of the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics
Engineering, who showed great interest in the scientific themes of the
championship and the opportunities for participation.
At
the conclusion of the workshop, attendees praised the valuable information
presented and the distinguished scientific style of presentation and delivery.
They emphasized the importance of such events in promoting a culture of
innovation and scientific competition among students. The Deanship of the
College of Engineering also expressed its appreciation to Dr. Dina Kadhim for
her efforts in delivering this introductory workshop and for her contribution
to supporting the participation of university students in national scientific
competitions.
